Friends of Semiahmoo Bay
Club Interests: We are a transboundary, marine-estuarine, watershed stewardship group. We are project-focused, working in the Boundary Bay Area ecosystem and within the greater context of both the Fraser River Estuary and the Georgia Strait-Puget Sound. As a non-profit society, we strive to fulfill conservation and environmental education project goals. Consequently, volunteers are key to the success of our projects! Whether you are interested in a planting event, forage fish survey, mapping eelgrass or leading an interpreted walk we have something for you! What we do: • Community and habitat mapping • Educational programs, activities and displays • Water quality sampling and data collection • Invasive species removal • Native planting and marine, estuary and terrestrial enhancement Our projects include: • Birds on the Bay Program • Nest Box Stewardship Program • World Ocean Day Celebration • Eelgrass Conservation Initiative • Forage Fish Spawning Habitat Project • Georgia Basin Habitat Atlas: Boundary Bay • Data collection and bio inventories • Water quality sampling • Little Campbell Estuary rehabilitation Membership fee: None Website: www.birdsonthebay.ca Other: Upcoming event and volunteer registration information is available on the FSB website.
